Is being “crunchy” an all-or-nothing thing… or are most of us living somewhere in the middle?
Today’s episode is a fun, honest, slightly spicy deep-dive into all things crunchy mom culture — and whether or not I actually fit the label.
This one was inspired by a conversation at a one-year-old’s birthday party (because where else do big identity questions come up, right?). Someone asked me if I was a crunchy mom… and my answer surprised even me.
In this episode, I walk through classic “crunchy categories” — from birth choices, gentle parenting, vaccines, food philosophy, babywearing, water birth, homeschooling, co-sleeping, diapers, toys, natural products, and more — and I rate where I truly fall on the crunchy spectrum.
You’ll hear:
✨ Why I support natural birth but don’t consider myself fully crunchy
✨ Where I lean crunchy… and where I jump off the crunchy train completely
✨ Why gentile parenting didn’t work for us (and what did)
✨ My chem-major take on vaccines & choosing an alternative schedule
✨ How babywearing became my unexpected crunchy hill to die on
✨ Why it’s totally okay to mix natural choices with convenience
✨ Why your birth, your lifestyle, and your parenting don't have to fit a label
This episode isn’t about judging or dividing — it’s about getting curious, seeing where you land, and remembering that motherhood isn’t a box to check… it’s a set of personalized choices.
If you find yourself crunchy in some areas and not in others… welcome to the club. You’re in good company.
