The widow of slain Rebels bikie boss Nick Martin claims her former partner was “controlling” and “hostile” during their relationship as she defends allegations she was part of a 2013 incident in which Martin threatened and assaulted his accountant over dodgy tax returns. Mrs Martin denies the allegations.
Amanda Martin sat quietly in Perth District Court on Tuesday on the first day of her trial, where a jury heard how the outlaw motorcycle gang leader, her de facto partner, coerced his accountant into creating false tax returns and loan applications in 2011.
The bikie boss wanted to buy a new Range Rover and two new properties, including one for his mother, and asked the accountant, who cannot be named, to submit false estimates of his income with the Bank of Queensland, while also downplaying his income with the Australian Taxation Office.
