Amanda Black, Founder & Entrepreneur
Amanda Black is an entrepreneur, community-builder, and the founder of The Solo Female Traveler Network (SoFe Travel), the largest community of women who travel solo worldwide. Amanda has 10 years of experience in global travel, community design, and crafting transformational group experiences, and is driven by a mission to help women change their lives through adventure and real connection.
She is the speaker behind the TEDx talk “Shared Firsts: Redesigning How We Find Belinging,” a talk that explores how deep relationships are built through shared new experiences rather than waiting to “find your people.” Her proudest accomplishments include building a global community of more than half a million women, designing trips to some of the world’s most remote destinations, and launching Kindred Community, a new project focusing on “connection retreats,” short women-only escapes that feel like the best sleepover ever.
Amanda resides in San Diego, California, though she spends much of the year scouting destinations, meeting women’s cooperatives, and testing the kind of experiences that turn strangers into lifelong friends. A fun personal fact: when she’s not traveling, you’re most likely to find her in a woodshop covered in sawdust.
Amanda has been featured across numerous podcasts and travel platforms, with her work attracting attention for its mix of adventure, cultural depth, and women-centered connection.
