Absolutely Bait and Switch

Are. You. Kidding. Me?!

What is billed as a light-hearted romp - a "Devil Wears Prada meets Primary Colors" - turned out to be an unrelenting screed of opinions and positions on flashpoint social issues such as abortion and funding Planned Parenthood, global warming, gun control, political correctness, etc, etc.

Let me be clear: It is not necessarily the issues themselves that are a problem - they're not - but the fact that *this is not what I signed up for* when I expended a precious credit for what I'd expected would be an entertaining read. As a journalist, myself, I was hoping to be entertained by newsroom shenanigans, not sucker-punched with the author's political agendas.

Great read or listen! Relevant and funny.

I would definitely recommend this book to someone interested in a light, fun read that also teaches some great lessons. It is so shockingly on point for todays media and society, especially given it was prior to the last election results. Witty, fun characters that you want to get to know and see succeed. Would

Listening to the story of Amanda Wakes Up was greatly enhanced by the wonderful read of Lu Hanessian.

Her ability to move between 30 some characters was a challenge that kept me listening and in awe of her ability to shift between multiple characters during fast-moving dialogue.

The story was fun and Hanessian's read made it that much better.
