Godly ambition? The Word of God never speaks of such a thing, but rather tells us to make it our ambition to lead a quiet life. Ambition builds a confidence that relies entirely on whatever that ambition is striving for. But if those things are taken away, where is your confidence then? Our confidence is in Christ. The confidence we have in Christ is because we deny ourselves, take up our cross, and have faith in Him—for we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
