Some days, my outlook has more energy than I do.
An honest conversation about how chronic illness changes work, hobbies, independence, and friendships—and finding things to look forward to when life looks different than you planned.
You can be hopeful and still have hard days.
This week’s Chronically Trying is a glimpse into a slower day with POTS. I spent some time feeding and playing with Penny, decorated a little for fall, and took her for a walk.
I also opened up about feeling defeated lately. POTS can make even an ordinary day feel hard, and I wanted to be honest about that while sharing the little moments that helped me through it.
If you relate to anything I talk about, please don’t be afraid to reach out. Your messages help me feel seen on the tough days, and I hope this video can do the same for you. Every time we share our stories, we remind someone else they aren’t alone. You’re still here, you’re still trying, and you don’t have to do it alone.
Talking about POTS and telling important facts and sharing important information !
This episode of Chronically Trying looks a little different. 🤍
After going through a sleep study, I decided that this week didn’t need to be another huge adventure. Instead, Jen and I slowed things down, stayed in, made dinner, and played a murder mystery game together.
Living with chronic illness can sometimes make you feel like you constantly have to prove that you’re still living — going places, trying things, pushing yourself and saying yes even when your body is asking you to slow down.
But not everything has to be go, go, go all the time.
Sometimes trying looks like climbing a mountain, and sometimes it looks like putting on comfy clothes, making dinner with someone you love, and spending the night trying to solve a murder mystery from the kitchen table.
Resting doesn’t mean life has to stop being fun. Adventure can be big, small, exciting, cozy, or somewhere in between.
Adventure looks different for everyone — and this week, ours happened at home. 🤍
What does it really mean to be "out of spoons"?
In this episode of ambrresilienceco, I break down Spoon Theory and share how it helps explain life with POTS and chronic illness. From everyday tasks to outdoor adventures, I talk about the hidden energy costs of living with an invisible disability and why looking "fine" doesn't always mean feeling fine.
Whether you live with a chronic illness or want to better understand someone who does, I hope this episode helps you see things from a new perspective.
This episode dives into the reality and struggles of the dating world while living with a chronic illness. Some people come into our lives and leave footprints that never fade. In this episode, I open up about how one person changed the course of my life forever. This is a story about pain, survival, trauma, healing, and ultimately finding the strength to become the person I was always meant to be.
For years, I carried the weight of experiences that shaped the way I saw myself, others, and the world around me. The impact of one person’s actions followed me into adulthood, affecting my mental health, physical health, and my journey with chronic illness. But this episode isn’t just about what happened—it’s about what came after.
Join me as I share how I moved from simply surviving to truly living, the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and how resilience can grow even in the hardest seasons of life. If you’ve ever struggled with your past, questioned your worth, or felt like your story was already written for you, this conversation is for you.
Remember: your past may shape your story, but it doesn’t have to define your future :)
