He notes that the growth stage can last about twenty years, during which a period of revelation gradually leads to development until it peaks or reaches its final frontier, signaling the start of decline. He clarifies that when a movement enters its final stage, conversations often shift more toward the past rather than the future. At this point, the movement tends to become institutionalized.
