Former Mexico Congressman and activist against human trafficking, Rosi Orozco, joins Mercedes Schlapp on America Uncanceled. Orozco has worked tirelessly to end human trafficking and to help the thousands of victims find safety and dignity. In Congress, she advocated for a law against human trafficking and now she works with Kaleido to support safe houses for victims and to aid for survivors. Kaleido has partnered with CPAC for the new Center for Combating Human Trafficking. CPAC recently hosted an International Summit Against Human Trafficking that brought together Kaleido and people from around the world to Capitol Hill to bring awareness to the crisis. Survivors, representatives, journalists, and dignitaries from around the globe were present to share their stories.
“I love [that] survivors now [are] leading the way,” Orozco says. “Survivor[s] [have] that blank page because they are writing a new story. Some of them are now head[s] of NGOs.”
On the global partnerships coming together for this summit, Orozco says, “We are going to fight together against this evil.”
