Dom Dumais

American Football – DD9

Listen Later

In this episode, Dom starts off talking about his experience playing football as a kid, with friends in the schoolyard, neighborhood, and in organized leagues, and the positions that he played.

Next, Dom talks about getting into football as a kid and being a Vikings fan, watching games with his dad, going to a game with his mom, watching games when he was in the Navy, and after the Navy. He also talks about losing touch with football, and touching base with it again when he was living in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  He also talks about after he and Tracy move back to Bangkok, and watching games, and then getting the NFL package through NFL.com.

The Vikings have been to the Superbowl four (4) times, Superbowl IV, VIII, IX, XI, and haven’t won it yet.  Only one team has been to the Superbowl more times with losses, but they have won a few Superbowls, and the Vikings are tied with the Buffalo Bills with most Superbowl appearances without a win.

Dom talks about some of his memories with football, from watching that game with his mom, watching Randy Moss‘s & Randall Cunningham, Brett Favre.  Struggling with Christian Ponder, watching Matt Cassel doing well then flounder.  Watching Teddy Bridgewater come to lead the Vikings.  The struggle with what happened with Adrian Peterson, and coming around to loving watching him play again.
