American Outlaws El Paso Chapter 67

Listen Later

On October 10, 2017 the United States needed only a draw against Trinidad & Tobago to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. It ended in a humiliating 2-1 defeat, marking the first time since 1986, that there would be no U.S. presence at the World Cup. At that time the USMNT was in disarray, in Taylor Twellman’s words, “What are we doing!?” That dreaded day back in 2017 inspired the U.S. Soccer Federation and now head Gregg Berhalter to build a new culture in the program and so far the early returns are encouraging. A certain group of fans have stood by the USMNT and have genuine optimism that the team could be on the cusp of a “Golden Era of United States Soccer.” Those fans are THE AMERICAN OUTLAWS, and we sat down with local Chapter 67, AO El Paso to discuss the past, present, and future of the United States Men’s National Team.
