Poverty in the US can look quite different depending on which state you're standing in. This is why Aidan and Jamie have chosen three films each taking place in a different region in the US to cover the experience of growing up poor as an American. The Florida Project (2017) taking place in Florida obviously, Raising Victor Vargas (2002) has the NYC lens, and Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) gives a look at the Katrina era Louisiana.
