Worth the listen

Others have whined about the somewhat sarcastic tone of the book, but dealing with such a heavy topic either leads to reverence or dark humour. Its a personal preference for the latter.

I was interested as genealogy has shown us related to Samuel Sewell, through his brother Stephen. I was a bit disappointed when he wasnt mentioned as he was in Salem too.

The downside is the narrator. Her tone, inflection and performance are great, but the painful pronunciations of some fairly common words (ie sow, the female pig) are grating. Id be enjoying parts then bam, she would glaringly mispronounce something.

Let me just say, they could have not made a better a choice for a narrator - Love Coleen Marlo, ever since I listened to her reading "The Poisoner's Handbook" by Deborah Blum

If you enjoy ..let's say anything witches - history, folklore, myth..- if you love this world of magic and stories, you will love this book.

I absolutly loved listening to this..finish it in 2 days.
