And that future is bright and exciting! Elon Musk said “It’s time to go forth, become a star-faring civilization, be out there among the stars, and expand the scope and scale of human consciousness.” He is also right that for human civilization to survive, we must become a multi-planetary species and we are on our way to do just that. The new NASA Administrator nominee Jared Isaacman committed to not only winning the race back to the Moon but extending that plan out to Mars and beyond. It is not only a civilization imperative, but a national security priority for us to greet Chinese astronauts when they land on the moon. Isaacman also proved he’s the man for the job with his innovative ideas on nuclear space propulsion and restructuring NASA’s role in the space capability effort, more closely partnering with commercial industry to win. Mr Isaacman juts went through his second committee hearing where he was voted out for a floor vote and my guest today was there at Mr Isaacman’s personal invitation. Sean Mahoney is a seasoned leader in the space industry, having served as CEO of Masten Space Systems and holding various leadership roles in industry groups. He rejoined the Space Frontier Foundation board in 2022, bringing his expertise in entrepreneurship and organizational growth to support the foundation’s mission.
