After watching 3 good performances against Newcastle, Sunderland, and Brighton, as well as a very good second half against Man City, Matt and Jonny are feeling cautiously optimistic about Liverpool's chances at qualifying for the Champions League, as the Reds enter a key stretch against relegation-threatened squads.

Despite a couple of good results this week, Liverpool sit in 6th place in the Premier League and are staring at a lost season, which seemed unthinkable in August.

Liverpool are now unbeaten in their last 11 games, none more impressive than their 0-0 draw at league leading Arsenal last week. Arne Slot's undermanned squad - down Mo Salah, Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak - were the better side in the second half at the Emirates, which begs an obvious question:

Just when you think this season couldn't get any worse for Liverpool, Saturday happened. 

The Reds blew a 2-0 and 3-2 lead to Leeds, and then Mo Salah, benched for a 3rd consecutive game, sounded off on the club in a rare interview, saying he felt like he was unwanted at the club, and was being scapegoated for Liverpool's struggles this season.
