Despite being the wealthiest nation with the highest healthcare spending per person, the United States exhibits a paradox of lower life expectancy compared to other developed countries. Although US life expectancy rebounded to 78.4 years in 2023, it has not fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels and lags significantly behind the average of 82.5 years in comparable nations.
