Standing curbside and looking up at 112 Ocean Avenue, you see a seemingly normal five bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home, classic white shutters adoring the windows, with white lattice climbing up the side side of the large home and a white sign out front that read: “High Hopes.” At first glance without knowing any history you would not image that this home would come to be the scene of a family slaughter, and then to then acquire the notable name The Amityville Horror House.
