The Democratic Republic of Congo is a place of immense and prolonged suffering as a result of years of instability, forceful takeovers by numerous rebel forces from surrounding countries, exploitation of the natural minerals and resources within the region, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people from their homes. However, the Congolese people continue to prove themselves to be resilient and powerful people.
