MICHELLE SAAHENE shouted “They didn’t do anything,” while two black men were arrested in a Starbucks in Philadelphia last April for sitting in the coffee shop and failing to make a purchase. You can hear her voice in the video that MELISSA DePINO would later post to twitter, the video that would go viral and spark protests. Saahene and DePino didn’t know each other at the time of the incident, but since then they’ve co-founded an organization called From Privilege to Progress that encourages white people to speak out against racism and amplify the voices of people of color. They join Marty for a conversation about social media, calling the police, race, and allyship.
