Shontez Davis is 18 years old and is from North Carolina. When he was 13 he was diagnosed with a tumor in his leg. After multiple visits to the doctor they decided to do a surgery to remove the tumor. After starting the surgery the doctors realized that his veins and arteries wrapped around the tumor which made the surgery significantly more dangerous. The surgery ended up lasting 20 hours and by the end the doctors were able to remove the tumor. Unfortunately a couple months later scans showed that the tumor had grown back. This time his doctor decided to treated the tumor with chemotherapy. After chemo failed to decrease the size of the tumor Shontez had a difficult decision to make. To undergo more chemo, go through another risky surgery or amputate his leg. Shontez chose to amputate his leg and during this 29 minute episode he goes into deep detail about his whole story.
