Amputation : The road to recovery

Listen Later

Phantom limb pain is a striking example of the deep connection between mind and body - one that still eludes science. After an amputation begins a long road to recovery, relying on both physical and mental resilience. How does one get to make the body and mind work as a team ?

To respect medical confidentiality and the variety of experiences, this episode develops around a fictional patient: Margaux. We created her story based on testimonials from amputees and healthcare professionals.

Together with Margaux, and through real-life encounters with medical practitioners catering patients like her everyday, we explore the different physical and emotional challenges after an amputation.
