Amundi, a leading European asset manager, has launched a tokenized version of its main euro cash fund, marking a significant step in bringing more financial products onto blockchain technology. This hybrid fund allows investors to buy traditional shares or hold a digital, tokenized version on the Ethereum blockchain. The first transaction using this new system occurred on November fourth. Developed in partnership with CACEIS, the fund uses distributed ledger technology for transparent record-keeping and easy transaction tracing. CACEIS plans to enable stablecoin and central bank digital currency purchases in the future, aiming for 24/7 subscription and redemption services.
