It had to be one of the strangest exchanges ever witnessed at a Senate Judiciary hearing. FBI Director Kash Patel began explaining recent changes to hiring practices when he was asked about lifting restrictions on applicants who engaged in prostitution and bestiality. That exchange led to an even more uncomfortable and at times comical Q & A between Patel and Senator John Kennedy.

Democratic congressional candidate, 37-year-old Christopher Gallant, acknowledged he posed years ago for an ad campaign selling leather bondage gear.  He also commented on another past photo that leaked, showing him as a shirtless bartender in his underwear working a Fire Island event, saying he will not allow photographs from a past relationship or employment to be distorted and weaponized for political purposes. Gallant is in a hotly contested race on Long Island against Republican Nick LaLota.  The Suffolk County Democratic Committee also chimed in, touting Gallant’s service to the community as a former military pilot, air traffic controller, and volunteer firefighter.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have been dealing with a lot of changes lately, and now, just two days after starting a new school, in a new country, they’ve had to make another major change: another new school. According to the Sussex’s spokesperson, the distance and traffic between home and school have proven to be too difficult and caused enough security concerns that they have switched the children’s school. This comes as the UK announced both the Duke and Dutchess will “imminently receive” an official risk re-assessment to determine whether tax funded security will be extended to them.

Macklemore has fired back after being dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour. Macklemore says New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft organized a boycott with several stadium owners over his “Free Palestine” statements. Macklemore opened for Sheeran in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium earlier this month where the rapper used the stage to say those two words and extend sympathies to the people of Gaza before he performed his protest song, “Hind’s Hall.” The Israeli American Council then issued a statement asking Sheeran, tour leadership and all venues hosting the tour to remove Macklemore from the tour.

There’s a social media war going on right now between several female athletes and actress Sydney Sweeney. After Sweeney appeared in a new sports betting ad wearing next to nothing, several high profile women from varying sports have likened the ad to “a kick in the face to every woman who has dedicated her life” to sports. They’ve gone on to show highlight reels of their competitions, training and accomplishments with captions that read, “this is way a woman in sports looks like” and many of them have racked up hundreds of thousands, even a million views. But many are clapping back, calling out the female athletes, asking why it it not ok for Sweeney to use her own sexuality to empower herself?  And wait until you hear how Sydney Sweeney herself has responded to the hate.

The headlines, the hate and the comments keep coming after a social media post by Meghan Markle over the weekend shows snippets of the Sussex’s new life in the UK. We see the backs of 7-year-old Archie and 5-year-old Lilibet along with the Duke and Dutchess enjoying the English country side. Many are slamming Meghan for “manufacturing interest and curiosity” into her children, while hiding the children’s faces and asking for privacy.  Meantime, SNL UK premiered their second season with an opening skit, skewering the non-working Royals, at one point referencing the longstanding, baseless rumor questioning whether Harry is King Charles’ biological son.

Several jurors have made the rounds, continuing to point the finger at the holdout juror that ultimately resulted in a mistrial for the Lindsay Clancy triple murder case. In an unscripted moment, CBS host Gayle King was shocked when she realized, and the juror she was interviewing confirmed, that the hold out juror was a black man. We go over why this was such a shocking revelation to King and why it’s now created an unusual political divide: An unlikely Republican leader coming to the defense of the black juror, while several national medial outlets dig up dirt on the juror’s background.

TMZ is citing multiple law enforcement sources with “direct knowledge” that Hayden Panettiere may have taken a blackmarket Oxycodone pill laced with fentanyl the morning of her death.  Those same sources say police are looking into her long time drug dealer in Los Angeles and are trying to trace the pill back to him.   Meantime, Panettiere’s on-again, off-again abusive boyfriend made headlines of his own over the weekend.  Brian Hickerson and his brother Zach were reportedly highly intoxicated when Zach was ultimately arrested for disorderly conduct, as Brian shouted at police that they “leaked it when my girlfriend died.”
