October 27, 2023, marks 34 years since 10-year-old Amy Renee Mihaljevic was abducted from the Bay Village Plaza in Bay Village, Ohio. Amy was lured to the plaza by a mysterious phone caller who called Amy at home and set up a time to go and buy her mom a gift for her new promotion at work.
The problem was there was no promotion, and this person didn't work with her mom. The city freaked out at the idea of a child being kidnapped from their quiet & safe suburb of Cleveland. I was Amy's age and grew up in the neighboring city.
We were inundated with Amy posters, Stranger Danger classes, and extra lessons on what to do when a stranger confronts you.

These tragic events involved the disappearance and murder of at least five individuals, leaving a lasting impact on the communities and the families of the victims. 
Despite extensive investigations, these cases remain cold, with authorities believing they are connected to a single suspect. However, no arrests have been made, and the perpetrator's identity remains unknown. 
The mystery of these cases continues to haunt the region, and efforts to find justice for the victims persist.

CrimeCon Rewind: The Lewis-Clark Valley Murders with Victimology

Using the online moniker “Dread Pirate Roberts,” or “DPR,” ULBRICHT controlled and oversaw every aspect of Silk Road, and managed a staff of paid, online administrators and computer programmers who assisted with the day-to-day operation of the site. Through his ownership and operation of Silk Road, ULBRICHT reaped commissions worth more than $13 million generated from the illicit sales conducted through the site. ULBRICHT also demonstrated a willingness to use violence to protect his criminal enterprise and the anonymity of its users, soliciting six murders-for-hire in connection with operating the site, although there is no evidence that these murders were actually carried out. -FBI.gov

CrimeCon Rewind: With Justin of Generation Why

On Monday, February 9, 2004, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a black-colored Saturn 4-door sedan vehicle, belonging to 21-year-old Maura Murray, traveled off Route 112 in Haverhill, New Hampshire, and became stuck. The roads in that area of northern New Hampshire were snow-covered at the time. Murray was not present at the crash scene when police arrived and has not been seen nor heard from since. Murray was last seen on surveillance footage earlier in the day at an ATM wearing a dark jacket and jeans.
Prior to that, Murray had left the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she was studying nursing. Murray did not share with others her pending trip to New Hampshire, which was about 2.5 hours away. Murray received prior education at the United States Military Academy at West Point, was an avid runner, and enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains. - FBI.gov
