Amy Nordhues grew up a survivor of sexual abuse. When she got saved, she went to the church for counseling. The very kind minister/counselor became a father figure, telling her she was the "daughter he never had," words he knew she was aching to hear. He invaded her personal space because he knew she was never allowed to have boundaries. What ensued was a horrific story of abuse by a therapist that was supposed to minster the healing power of Jesus. While this is a highly triggering podcast, it is one that needs to be heard. As survivors, we need to know what the warning signs are for unsafe therapists. Amy helps us to know what good therapists are and how to trust them.
