ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Amy Watkins grew up with the rattlesnakes and armadillos in the central Florida scrub. The oldest child of a nurse and a carpenter, she dreamed of becoming a doctor, a painter, and a contestant on Star Search. She became a writer instead. She is the author of the chapbook Milk & Water, a regular reviewer for The Drunken Odyssey with John King, and art editor for Animal: A Beast of a Literary Magazine
