In this episode, I explore the difference between standards and expectations and why we are inclined to give someone the label of "the one" in the first place. When I lost my father, I lost all my sense of security in life and that made me very anxiously attached to all things around me, especially in my romantic relationships. Setting expectations was my way of keeping myself safe and in this episode I share what got me through that tendency and what helps me navigate triggering situations without relying on control.
