Sybil Archibald creates art that explores the fundamental elements of spirituality. Her work is inspired by her experiences living with scleroderma, an autoimmune rheumatic disease sometimes described as a mummification of the body's tissues. 

Archibald does not practice a particular religion, but she has studied medieval spiritualism and draws from that knowledge and imagery to produce her own body of work.
