The discourse of society has seen some ups and downs throughout the history of America and the one thing that has always been there to counter intolerance and ignorance is education. Tocqueville identified the intellectual diversity and involved citizenry as the reason that America was able to thrive in the fields of education from its inception and it is this diversity and engagement which allows the Great Conversation to continue in a world of cell phones and social media.
