SUNY Canton is hoping to double the number of students enrolled in its new mechatonics engineering program this fall. Mechatronics is a combination of mechanical engineering and electronics, and also includes computer science. Robotics and automated systems, like those used in the auto industry, are examples of mechatronic systems.
