An Entire Hymn Book Supernaturally Created? Arlene Buffington's Story As Told by Her Daughter

Listen Later

Meet Becky Tarbuk daughter of Hymn writer Arlene Buffington of the Church of Jesus Christ. Evangelical Steven Pynakker and Becky have a conversation about Arlene that is presented to the general public for the first time. Topics covered include the early days of Arlene's family converting to the Church of Jesus Christ, Arlene's experience receiving the first few songs, the process of composing the songs, the negative reactions some had of her work, other Branches of the Restoration using her music, how individual congregations started to embrace the hymns, and ultimately the Church accepting them. We then discuss the role women play in the Church and Steven addresses his Evangelical critics. It was wonderful to have Becky on to tell this unique story about her Mother, her Gift, and the Church of Jesus Christ.
