An Inside Look at the State of Cybersecurity in Healthcare

Listen Later

Throughout the pandemic, every industry had their share of challenges.  Companies across the spectrum of industries moved mountains to keep the lights on, keep the economy going, and adjust to a dramatic change in how business got done.

Cindi Bassford of Guidehouse discusses how nothing was more impressive than frontline healthcare workers putting patients first as well as using innovation to get people the care they needed.   However, the industry faced bad actors that capitalized on the pandemic’s disruption with cybercriminals exploiting the stresses of the healthcare system for personal gain.  She suggests that we have the tools to prevent these types of attacks, but it means focusing and committing to their implementation – the time and money spent upfront are far less than the cost to clean it up.

Thank you!
