excellent series

An entertaining series

I have read a few of these Inspector Alvarez novels. The things I like are the writing style which has a flavor of being translated although I do not think they are. There are good dialogues with funny repartee. They are not too graphic- the inspector is grossed out and saddened by murder. There is a lot of detail about the culture and it adds to the story. Sometimes the plots are a little slow, but I like that. In this one you can almost guess the solution but it does not take away from the overall impression.
