Jennifer Burgess sits with Amanda Singrassia, Owner and Artistic Director of Dreamworks Performing Arts Center.

Amanda spent her youth dancing, training in multiple styles. She discovered her love for teaching young; through apprenticeships, choreographing theatrical productions, and founding a dance program out of the Plymouth Boys and Girls Club. She has continued spreading her passion for dance through non-profit organizations, after school enrichment programs, and in studios throughout New England, and has instructed students of all ages, and all abilities from recreational to competitive. Amanda was chosen to take part of a pioneer "Teaching Dance for Children" course while studying at Franklin Pierce University, and trained under master teachers and international professors.

Outside of DPAC ownership, Amanda trained and performed with Coastal Dance Company and Kinetic Synergy, dancing classical and contemporary works, such as The Nutciracker, Coppèlia, and Finding Nemo. She is also the former Director of Theatre in Brookline, and former Choreographer for Drama in Plymouth Public Schools, as well as Break a Leg Theater Works. In 2018, Amanda was cast as a Lead Dancer with New York Deaf Theatre in NYC in the Ballet “The Red Shoes”, and has also premiered her own choreography and returned for various Freelance work. In 2021, Amanda’s modern piece “Water & Dust” was selected as part of the Bay Area International Deaf Dance Festival (San Francisco).
