Hosts Charles A. Goldfarb, MD, FAOA and Emerging Leader, Alexander W. Aleem, MD, talk with Ann Van Heest, MD, FAOA, regarding the Summer CORD Conference at the Virtual 2020 Annual Leadership Meetings of The American Orthopaedic Association. 

Dr. Van Heest shares insights on the AOA's Council of Orthopaedic Residency Directors (CORD) Program, and its collaboration with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) to standardize knowledge testing during residency as we move toward competency-based education. 

The symposium will provide a discussion of how to improve assessment during residency in order to have a consistent language across programs: 

• medical knowledge 
• patient-care skills
• professional behavior
