In my years of working with struggling teens and their families, I’ve found that moms and dads tend to lump problems into one overwhelming mess.

I’ll sit down with a hurting mom and listen to her story. But she leads with a laundry list of issues her teen deals with. I understand her frustration and exhaustion, but I’d also encourage her to break it down a little. When we lump everything together into one huge family mess, it compounds the conclusion that there will never be a resolution.

But let me assure you, your situation can change. There is hope.

So don’t let the enormity of what you see right now eclipse reality. Not only can you get to the other side of the struggles you’re now facing, you will get to the other side.
