I really enjoyed reading the book
Pulls heart strings in two different directions, in a good way.
Theme of the sacrificial gift. As the baby Jesus became to us all.
Ruth Reidâs story really touched my holiday heart. It may have been the three outstanding well-developed charactersânot easily done in novella format.
----Accepting spinsterhood, Abigail nears her goal of filling a Mason jar with coin enough to buy her own horse, Cactus, a sign of independence. Her self-declared âgift of gabâ is NOT so Plain for Amish fraas. âOnly Abigail would consider prattle a gift.â âa book quote.
----Her cousin and fence-jumper, Afghanistan Vet with PTSD is back and causing that family a shunning risk. Abigailâs soft heart puts her in need of a new job toward her Cactus buying plan.
----A seldom used Amish trade is highlighted, I liked that. A glassmaker, Micah, can fill that job need if he can stand all the âGabby Abby-ness.â The journey of these three is a delight to read with a Christmas hearth-warming ending.
A truly wonderful story about loving and faith
This was a surprisingly wonderful story about a girl and a guy and a wounded veteran and a homeless man. It reminds you of what is truly important. This is a wonderful Christian story that takes place before and up to Christmas Day. It will make you smile and remind you about what is really important.
