The Pilgrims have now chosen a spot to begin settling- Plymouth, Massachussets. Time is against them as they begin to build homes and gathering places; it is the middle of winter in New England and death and sickness are ever present in the new found colony.

Within a few short weeks, a visitor, native to the Americas, will make himself known to the Pilgrims and will become a friend and ally. Without this encounter, the Pilgrims may not have made it through their first winter in Plymouth.
