A fundamental change in thought patterns began to emerge from the Scientific Revolution of the 16th and 17th centuries. The spiritual world was seen as insignificant, and the natural world was seen as the “real” world, the world of reason, and the world of science. As a result, by the end of the Age of Enlightenment, many held the worldview of God as being unknowable or unprovable. A wall was created dividing faith from reason. But is God unprovable? Is our faith in God reasonable, or is it an irrational belief in the absurd?
