With everything changing so quickly and so many different media for communication, I thought it would be helpful to start keeping all of Gateway’s updates during this strange season in one place. In addition to changes in planning and changes in response, I also hope to include devotions and other encouraging content.
This podcast/blog will be mainly aimed at members and—to a lesser degree—regular attenders. But I hope it will be helpful beyond those groups as well
This first message is about decisions the elders made Sunday regarding our COVID-19 response. I get into a lot more detail in the audio. In generally, these updates won’t be so long (I hope!) but there was a lot to share. I can do a little Q&A after our prayer time on Wednesday if anyone likes. Basically, there are 4 main things to report:
Our decision to suspend public gatherings through April
Our desire to strictly limit volunteer work at our old and new locations
Our request for members to help us establish a new benevolence fund to support members during the coming weeks and months (we already have a different program that non-members can tap into)
How you can encourage one another through the book The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness by Tim Keller (copies are available at Amazon, Christianbook.com)
