In this episode I grapple with sleeplessness, insomnia, and doubt. In the process of trying to organize these thoughts and express them I spent hours trying to track down the origins of quotes and reading old essays and writings. Take what you can from this one, and enjoy!
Quotes:
"Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother. Doubt is a foundling unhappy and astray, and though his mother who gave him birth should find him and hold him, he would withdraw in caution and fear." = Khalil Gibran
“Now, Kalamas, don’t go by reports, by legends, by traditions, by scripture, by logical conjecture, by inference, by analogies, by agreement through pondering views, by probability, or by the thought, ‘This contemplative is our teacher.’ When you know for yourselves that, ‘These qualities are skillful; these qualities are blameless; these qualities are praised by the wise; these qualities, when adopted & carried out, lead to welfare & to happiness’ — then you should enter & remain in them.” - Siddhartha Gautama
"Dubito, ergo sum. vel. quod idem est, cogito, ergo sum" - Rene Descartes
