The Gospel of Luke reported that the disciples' response to all that Jesus did, after He ascended into heaven, was to worship Him. The Gospel of Luke ends this way: "When (Jesus) had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While He was blessing them, He left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God." (Luke 24:50-53) Evidently the first response to the truth of Jesus Christ is worship and Pastor Mark suggested this morning that the most powerful witness to the Lordship of Jesus Christ just might be God's people coming together, on the Lord's Day, to worship Him.
