After juggling the loss of her mother and raising young children in her early 20's, Kate found herself struggling with anxiety and feelings of overwhelm. Finding a regular yoga and breathwork practice, it became a key component, along with therapy, healing, and rebuilding a new way of navigating life. As a dancer in her childhood, yoga and the movements felt comforting and familiar and challenged Kate to remain in the present. Additionally, Kate found yoga a saving grace to return to after having five surgeries within nine months. It's been over 20 years now, and since then, Kate has raised her kids and spent more than 15 decades working in community clinics and private practice centering around Women's health. Now a Doula, Kate continues to integrate yoga's benefits in body and mind into her work. Personally, Kate loves to practice a wide range of classes from Ashtanga to Restorative, Vinyasa, to Kundalini to Yin. As a teacher, Kate plans to specialize in Power and Mixed Level Vinyasa Flows, Prenatal Yoga, and Yoga for people recovering from breast and ovarian cancer surgeries, emphasizing meditation and visualization.
