In 1990, Swami Kriyananda wanted to host an event to tell local residents in Nevada County more about what happens at Ananda Village.

He mentions many aspects of community life, including the broader sense of kinship and service to our greater community in Nevada County, and not just the Village residents and guests who come to stay at our Retreat.

He expressed that Ananda people are not trying to be exclusive among themselves. He said, rather, we would like you to know that ALL are welcome and considered part of our greater community family.

Swami Kriyananda explains that Ananda’s spiritual lifestyle creates harmony among Village residents.

He cordially invited all guests to take part in any activities at the Village that they feel to, such as attending Sunday Services or taking classes, or just visiting the community grounds.
