# Ananse's Wicked Scheme and Tiger's Folly

In this dark trickster tale, Ananse the spider committed a terrible deed by killing his grandmother and placing her body in his wagon before driving into town. At a bar, he cunningly told the barkeeper to take whiskey to his "sleeping" grandmother in the wagon. When the unsuspecting barkeeper couldn't wake the dead woman, Ananse loudly accused him of killing her. Fearing arrest and scandal, the frightened barkeeper bribed Ananse with a sack of gold coins to keep quiet about the incident. Later, when Tiger inquired about Ananse's newfound wealth, the devious spider explained he got it by killing his grandmother and taking her to town. The gullible Tiger, thinking he could gain similar riches, killed his own grandmother and drove openly into town, foolishly shouting for buyers for his dead grandmother. Unlike Ananse's subtle manipulation, Tiger's blatant actions resulted in his immediate arrest and imprisonment.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
