Wonderful hitman novel
My favorite Peter Rabe novel "Anatomy of a Killer" is the story of smooth operating hitman Sam Jordan and how a killing machine weakens. This is probably the best pulp crime novel. Back in the day Gold Medal saw Peter Rabe as the star of the crime novel, a title that eventually would be given to John D. MacDonald. That's not to say Rabe wasn't as good as MacDonald, he just wasn't as lucky. But lucky for us, these novels are coming out, and they're at a price that can't be beat. Give Rabe a shot. You won't be disappointed.
