Age is just a number, right? Until your new boss is younger than you.
Suddenly it feels like your little sister is telling you what to do. The comparisons start. The resentment creeps in. How did they get that position? What do they have that I don't?
When Devin started a retail training program in his mid-20s, he was excited and eager to learn. Everything was great until he met his supervisor. She was two years younger. And just like that, his pride hijacked everything.
The questions spiraled: How did she get associate level when I'm still assistant? Why am I reporting to someone younger? What is she doing that I'm not?
None of those thoughts helped. But one shift in perspective changed everything.
In this Anchor Point, Devin shares:
Scripture (NIV): Colossians 3:23-24 β "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
