Have you ever been completely right… and still not believed?

In this Anchor Point, I share a frustrating moment that left me having to prove something I knew was already true. What should have been simple turned into a situation that felt unfair, confusing, and out of my control.

Moments like that reveal how quickly frustration can take over, and how much we want to be seen, heard, and justified. But they also invite us to trust God, even when things don’t make sense.

Psalm 37:5–6 — “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.”

Integrity isn’t tested when it’s obvious, it’s tested when no one would notice.

What felt small and easy to justify quickly became something deeper. And through an unexpected voice, I was reminded that doing what’s right isn’t about what we can get away with, it’s about who we’re becoming.

Sometimes the smallest moments reveal the clearest truth.

Independence can look like strength, but sometimes it quietly becomes a barrier. Not just in life, but in our faith.

Saving grace, it’s everything. It’s why we know God and why we follow Him. But sometimes I think we can focus on that so much, we miss something else.

I was sitting at the beach recently, just watching. Families, kids running into the water, people just enjoying being there. And I started thinking, there’s more going on here than we usually notice.

Even in the ordinary, in everyday life, there are glimpses of something good. And maybe some of the ways God shows up are so familiar, we don’t even stop to see them.

Maybe the invitation is simple. Don’t miss what’s already right in front of you.

Scripture (NIV):

Matthew 5:45 — “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

Reflection Questions:

What everyday moments of God’s goodness have I overlooked?

Do I take time to thank Him for the small, consistent things?

How can I become more aware of His presence in ordinary life?

When someone passes, we often say things like, “They left us,” or “They’re gone.”

I’ve said that too… without really thinking about it.

But lately, that perspective has been shifting for me.

We recently had to say goodbye to one of our dogs. He was 14. And around the same time, we have a relative who’s getting closer to that moment too. You can feel it—the in-between space of not knowing how much time is left.

And sitting in that, this picture came to mind… like a race.

What if they didn’t leave us?

What if they just finished first?

They’ve crossed the finish line. And we’re still here—still in the middle of it all. The schedules, the stress, the questions, the everyday moments.

It doesn’t take away the grief. We still feel the absence. We still wish they were here.

But it does shift something.

Because this isn’t home… not fully, not forever.

And maybe today is just a gentle reminder that the ones we love who are with God now—they’re not behind us.

They’re ahead.

Scripture (NIV):

Philippians 3:20 — “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.”

What would it look like to see “home” the way God describes it?

It was supposed to be simple. Just a quick grocery order—nothing unusual. Bread, milk… and seven bananas.

At least, that’s what I thought I ordered.

A couple hours later, there’s a knock at the door. My husband walks in carrying bag after bag, and all I see is yellow. Not seven bananas… seven full bunches. We’re talking about fifty bananas sitting on the counter.

And honestly, I didn’t even realize what I had done.

I thought I was paying attention. I thought I knew exactly what I clicked. But somewhere along the way, I missed it.

And it made me think… how often do we do that in other areas of life?

We assume we’re focused. We think we’re present. But drift happens quietly. In our conversations. In our routines. Even in our time with God.

We can be right there—and still not fully paying attention.

But paying attention to what we’ve already heard from God… that’s actually a form of faith.

Noticing. Slowing down. Staying aware.

Because sometimes the drift isn’t loud—it’s subtle. And we don’t even see it until we’re surrounded by something we never intended.

Scripture (NIV):

Hebrews 2:1 — “We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.”

Reflection Questions:

Where in my life might I be drifting without realizing it?

Am I truly present in my time with God, or just going through the motions?

What would it look like to slow down and pay closer attention today?

You ever get in the car, start pulling away, and then realize… you forgot your water bottle? It’s funny how that’s become one of those must-have items now—right up there with your phone, wallet, and keys.

But it makes you think… what if our awareness of God worked like that? What if, before stepping into the day, there was something in us that naturally checked—“Am I connected to Him?” Not in a heavy or pressured way, just a quiet reminder that we don’t want to go without Him.

Because the truth is, we can get through a day without a lot of things—but we were never meant to go through it without Him. And maybe today is just a simple invitation to bring Him with us in a more intentional, everyday way.

We’re used to looking for the loud moments. The big signs. The obvious answers. But what if the most meaningful things in our lives aren’t found in the noise, but in the quiet?

Today in our Anchor Point, I’m sharing a simple story about a soft-spoken surfer whose voice alone has the power to calm and ground people and how there’s actually a deeper design behind that. We’re wired to respond to the gentle, the quiet, the whisper.

And maybe that’s why God so often chooses to speak that way too.

Not always through the dramatic or the overwhelming, but through a still, small voice that invites us closer. A voice that doesn’t force its way in—but waits for us to slow down enough to hear it.

Because His whisper isn’t weak. It’s intentional and personal. And it’s often where real transformation begins.

When was the last time you really stopped to look at where you were spending your time and money and what it says about what you actually value?

You've probably driven past the same strip mall a hundred times without really seeing it. The strip mall I was in had a dentist, a nail salon, a hair salon, a weight loss center, an acupuncture place — body, body, body, everywhere I looked. And honestly? I'm all for it. Taking care of ourselves physically is a good thing. But we don't think twice about any of it.

In today's Anchor Point, I'm talking about the time and money we pour into our physical upkeep and what it might look like to give even half that effort to our spiritual health.

1 Timothy 4:8 – "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."
