Why do Christians practice baptism and observe the Lord’s Supper?

What will our bodies be like after the resurrection?

Drawing from 1 Corinthians 15, Pastor Tim Franklin explores the Bible’s promise that believers will one day receive new, glorified bodies. These bodies will no longer be affected by sin, sickness, weakness, pain, or death. Instead, they will be raised incorruptible, honorable, powerful, and prepared for eternal life with Christ.

This message offers encouragement for anyone facing aging, physical limitations, grief, or discouragement. Because Jesus conquered death, Christians have a lasting hope and a reason to remain steadfast, continue serving the Lord, and keep sharing the good news of Jesus.

Pastor Tim Franklin uses the life of Abraham to illustrate the connection between obedience, repentance, and God’s blessings. When God called Abram to leave everything familiar and travel to an unknown land, Abram had to trust God one step at a time. His journey shows that God does not always reveal the entire path, but He faithfully guides those who follow Him.

The sermon also examines Abram’s failure in Egypt, where fear led him to lie about Sarah being his wife. That sin brought consequences not only upon Abram, but also upon Pharaoh and his household. Pastor Tim emphasizes that our sins rarely affect only us. Like Abram, we may have to backtrack spiritually and return to the place where we previously met with God.

However, failure did not cancel God’s promise. After Abram returned to the altar and called upon the Lord, God reaffirmed and expanded His blessing. The message reminds believers that God desires to bless His people, but obedience comes before blessing. When sin interrupts our fellowship with God, we must confess, repent, and return to Him.

Pastor Tim closes by encouraging listeners to examine their walk with God. Unconfessed sin may be preventing them from fully experiencing the peace, direction, and abundant life God desires to provide. Through Jesus Christ, forgiveness and eternal life are available to everyone who turns from sin, places their faith in Him, and walks in obedience.
