In this Advent series we have been looking forward to Christ’s birth through the first-hand experiences of those who were there at the first Christmas. This Sunday we’ll read Luke 1:46-55, some of the most beautiful verses in the Bible. An angel has told Mary that will give birth to the Messiah, the promised savior of the world. Mary is just a teenager at the time, unmarried, in a society that will make her an outcast once they find out she is having a baby. She has no assurances about the future—but still, she rejoices.

Come and rejoice with us Sunday at 10 a.m. We’ll celebrate Communion as a church family. Kids’ Church is observing the Advent season in their own service, so bring your children ages 4-11. (And please remember to bring a wrapped gift, if you chose a name from the kids’ Christmas tree last week. The kids’ Christmas party will be Sunday the 19th.)
