AND THEN, THE LIGHTS WENT OUT…
A chilling saga of dames, deceit… and writer’s block
Written and adapted for audio by Andy Garland
Directed by Deb Howey, Asst. Director, Diana Burse
Sound design and audio production by Jim Park
SYNOPSIS
The story takes place in the rundown and untidy eighth-floor apartment of a detective novelist with a serious case of writer's block. Thomas Levine is struggling to finish -- start, actually -- his seventh novel, which is due at his publisher's the following day. His characters worry he might not finish the book, which would mean the end of the line for them.
They play alongside the real-life action in the apartment, featuring a landlord, Adelle Berger, who is trying to bake her tenants out by stealing their air conditioners during a summer heat wave. Meanwhile, Thomas' neighbor and wannabe girlfriend, Nia Sloan, busts in with a crisis of her own.

"You did a great job adapting this play for a listen-only audience. The sound effects and music were great. Bravo." -- Jan
"Congrats to the cast for a really professionally done show in the old radio mystery format. A great listen." -- Norm
"I listened tonight with my whole family. The captivated everyone from age 13 to age 40. We all sat around in the living room, and it was the first time in ages the teenagers did not have their phones in their hands." -- Diana
"I'm listening to the play in the car. It's like classic radio before television. I love it. It takes a lot of talent to paint a picture in the listener's mind. Excellent work." -- Kevin.
